Stupid People

A Twitter friend has managed to get Common People going round & round in my head lately, and a comment to capt_spork during the riots about Sherlock living in a flat above a shop made me decide to rewrite the song to fit with Sherlock. I didn't include the 'like a dog lying in a corner' part from the album version (even though that's my favourite bit of the song) because it would have made the whole thing far too bitter. I wanted John's POV to be one of fond despair, irritation & worry, whereas that section of the song is just so angry and so specifically about poverty that I just couldn't do it justice.
