Look, Allen. Al. Baby. This is all my fault...
Aahhhhhhh, La Reynolds! MI High was better than I thought it was going to be. Some ropey acting from the non-lead kids and the 'destroy the computer with a paradox' ending was a mega cliche, but for a kid's show it was OK. Danny John Jules, man! So cool.
La Reynolds was in it loads, especially at the beginning - mainly because he gets tied up ten minutes in and spends the rest of the episode Eyebrow Acting.
Some thoughts...
TANK TOP! I had hoped for the whole Dr G type leather-patches-and-NHS-Specs, but the tank top was fun.
That hairline's still making a ponderous amble towards the back of his head, although he was getting a bit of a widow's peak by the end of PG, so I'm thinking it's probably happening slowly enough for me to safely say we can enjoy La Coiffure de la Reynolds for a few more years. There's a fair amount of silver in the sides now though, luvvim.
He has still got the most delicious eyelashes, second only to Hubs. And maybe ViVi, who has inherited her father's top-of-face.
Dun-dun-duuuuuuuuun... Wedding Ring! Absolutely no reason for it to belong to his character, so I'm assuming that it's his. How cute!
He aims for a posh accent... he misses. Bless. Those Lahdahn/Estuary vowels and dropped consonants just keep fighting their way through. I think all he can really hope for is 'Working Class Londoner/Essex Boy' (Kevin Bloody Pullen, Sammy Dobbs) or 'Slightly Middle Class Londoner/Essex Boy' (Colin, Quentin).
'IT'S ALIIIIIIVEEEEE!!!' - Every actor should get the opportunity to cry that, wild-eyed at some point in their career.
I liked Lenny's Hat. And the gloriously outdated equipment that they had in the school. And I think the girl who plays Rose is really good.
Right. Baby Wash.
EDIT: For thems with proper jobs who done missed it, it's available to view again on the BBC's Website here for a week. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/page/item/b008pcph.shtml?filter=txdate%3A14-01&filter=txslot%3Aafternoon&filter=channel%3Abbc_one&scope=iplayerlast7days&start=1&version_pid=b008pcnq
I think it might be UK only though - I'm pretty sure their radio player is.
