Gnomes in Suits
Sep. 11th, 2005 04:51 pmInlaws around, have decided to watch Carmen Jones, which I watched the other night, so I've skulked off to Poot. Life Is Beautiful is done (yay!) so I might start on Chappy 3 of Chance Encounter.
Man, I'm so pleased we've got an H&M now! I love it! A whole bunch of us girls at work have been getting unduly excited about the presence of one in Canters all week. It is just choc full of pretty, shiny, impractical things - went for a poke around today and got a very pretty wrap-around jumper for work. Also delighted that Ugg Boots seem to have lasted into this winter too, since it means I don't have to buy any more (I love my Ugg boots - I can't cope with heels, I fall off them.)
Noticed that M&S have launched a range of formal menswear and have chosen Martin Freeman, Jimmy Carr and Bob Mortimer as their models. Now, I'm all for using famous people as models (although it only seems to be done for mens clothes at the mo - I'd love to see some female musicians, comediennes, actresses etc doing modelling for ladieswear shops) but surely these three are a strange choice since they're all a bit... gnomish. I'm not slagging them off, I think Freeman and Mortimer are both quite cute, but they've all got that short, pudgy thing going on. Would they consider making a short, pudgy woman a model if she was Off The Telly?
Me & Hubby had a WICKED idea for a film last night (pub evenings usually consist of knocking story ideas to and fro - we're so civilised!) but I'm not going to say what it entails for fear of jinxing it... let's just say it lifts a couple of characters from my unwritten book and is based on a famous Western!
