More than my job's worth, mate...
Oct. 11th, 2005 07:44 pmGaaaahhhhh! Why is it that EVERY OTHER DEPARTMENT all of a sudden can't do the stuff that they're paid to do?
So far this week I've had:
A Studio Artist tell me he can't do a proof (his job)
The entire features team (including The Job Thief) tell me that they can't do a feature they way my customer wants (their job)
The editor tell me that the Subbers can't Sub an advertorial (their job) and that the journalist telling me it was all done shouldn't have been understood as meaning that it was, in fact, all done.
And it's only Fecking TUESDAY! And because none of these people get targetted on how much money their work helps bring in for the company, guess who ends up taking responsibilty for the stuff they 'can't do'. Yep, that's right. Muggins. Also everybody is stressed because everybody is sick and half the team are off which means that the half that have come in get screamed at. Guess which half I'm in. And thusly, guess how many people who are too sick/idle to work I am currently covering.
OK, Bitch Over, but this is really starting to get to me. I'm starting to Moult, and those of you who know how very hairy I am will understand what a mess that makes.
Have listened to pretty much nothing but 'Our Prayer' and Joey Ramone's version of 'What A Wonderful World' all day. Both have vid potential, but I'm thinking of making them montage scenes for the new adventures... drawing a series of stills to use. Wouldn't be til later in the adventures anyway ('Our Prayer' for muchos post-Revelation sulkage, 'Wonderful World' for an epilogue) and might decide I'm too lazy. I need to work on my drawing skills, anyway. I want to be able to do some decent action shots and crazy angles/perspectives. Doesn't help that I have a very filmic mind and see a lot of shots just so as I'm writing them.
Anyhoo. Want to get a wee scribble-ette done tonight - Eppie 9's turned very long, and might be another 3 parter since I'm up to my usual 60-odd pages and nowhere near a conclusion yet. That would be nice, because eking out the DaddyDeath issues has had such a slow rhythm to it so far it'd be a shame to rush the end of it. More new comedy characters, too. Yay!
