I liked this line:

'He smiled back, his hair still wet and spiked, tiny pearls of water still bejewelling his torso. He had wrapped a towel around his waist, but hadn't bothered with his shoulders. In the dim light she could see the feathers of his pretty scar on his shoulder and ribs. They seemer fainter somehow.'

Aaaahh. Feel the love.

Also, I can't help but notice that a certain 'House of Delights' has popped up on my f-list...

*mooches off to investimagate*

Apparently, this week it's so close to Christmas that 'You can almost smell the leftover sprouts'. Yes. That *is* seven days more Christmassy a smell than Santa's Beard. Not a pleasant smell, but at least this stupid glib metaphor actually makes a bit of sense!

You see, what Chrimbo *actually* smells of is:
old tinsel & plastic tree heated by fairy lights
cheap chocoloate
chicken dinner
smellies as prezzies (posh shower gel, perfume you'd never usually get, etc, etc.)
Baileys
cake.

And that's how it should stay, dammit!

Grrrr! Got the Harry Potter Screener through today - haven't seen in in the cinema - it was in 2 discs. The first one only worked on the PS2. The 2nd one doesn't work on ANYTHING! So now I don't know what happens after Harry asks those two Indian girls to the Ball.

RRRRAAAAHHHH!!!!!

What is the point of sending out screeners if they don't work properly, eh? EH????

I good news, though, this week's Mark Steel Lecture is the one that I went to the recording of about 5 years ago.

(and click on The Mark Steel Lectures).

I thoroughly recommend Mark Steel to the uninitiated. Highly knowledgable, very working class, very left wing, which I like. Also very very funny and you find out all sorts of mad stuff about history & politics & shit.
