(no subject)

Last night I didn't want to tempt fate and say 'I bet my car breaks on Monday, thus keeping me from visiting Claire and completing a hat trick of cool plans ruined by shite transport'. But, of course, it's knackered today anyway. Almost impossible to start, bunny hopping with intention to stall all the way around the ring road. It's often difficult on a Monday morning when it hasn't been driven for a couple of days, but it's never been that bad before. Therefore I'm v nervous about the concept of driving it half way across Kent tonight. Luckily, Claire isn't opposed to doing the extra 30 miles on top of her long journey to avoid an evening alone in a hotel room, but I feel really shitty for having to ask her. I also have the issue of getting the car to limp home tonight. And then probably another week of the bus.

In the end, Claire came down to us. We had a lovely Chinese. The car drove home OK, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's sorted itself out. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.

I've had some nice reviews today (thanks, Elfgirl... I know what you mean about the lack of the great battle, Hubby thought I should have written that, too, but to me the incoming army was really just a Catalyst to what was predominantly an emotional story. I wanted to leave it open ended in a way, as Eric writes at the end, it's just the beginning of a new chapter of their lives. But also it's pointless writing a fight that DM has already said that they'd win. I like Rose, though, and the little romance she has with Presto, so I may do a sequal in the future.)
But one left for my vid was weird. Its main point was that the reviewer was a bit disappointed that it wasn't just a straight eppie of the cartoon. Buh?

I'm really loving Sealgirl's new fic Rebound. Bless her heart for writing E/D sex. It's spurred me on - I'd like to write an adult fic with a D&D pairing I wouldn't usually do - so, def no E/D, no H/S or S/V because they've been done a few times, and I don't want to revisit H/E/D or H/E/V. And I'm tinkering around with H/E in Wonderful. Hmmm. Considering that I won't read/write minors or animals and don't really want to write Non-Con, it don't leave me with all that much. Any suggestions? Any shexshual couplings that are begging to be written but are so far underused?
