Youth Tourists.
Mar. 19th, 2006 04:38 pmMet up with Jools, Sylv & Flo last night, and since Flo had been working on campus, we spent the night up there, doing a tour of all the old bars... at least that was the plan, since the Lighthouse won't let you in if you're not a student and Elliot & Rutherford were closed. So we went to Keynes bar (which has changed loads,) the Gulb (ditto, and we never drank there in the first place because it's a theatre bar and thus expensive) and Darwin (which was bizzairely deserted). Went into Elliot college and had a random Memory Jaunt around the UKCD Office/Computer room area (which was also where I lived). Then I depressed us all by woring out that us revisiting those places now was equal, timewise, to students from 1991 wandering around Campus back when we were Freshers.
We're old. Hubs is now a full decade older than those little Freshers, Sylv even more so. But it's nice that those people I sat and drank cheap pints with in those bars all those years ago were still supping and laughing with me last night, and that the hottest one of them is now my Hubs.
Heard more of the Plans for The Big Wedding... my God, it's going to be huge! Hundreds and hundreds of people, and they're doing it in Gib Cathedral. Really looking forward to it - I've a feeling it's going to be the first time we'll have got out of the country since the Honeymoon, and it sounds like quite a few of our Chummies are going to be making a proper holiday out of it too.
