P-P-P-Pick up a Penguin
May. 23rd, 2006 07:01 pmWell, I've now started work on that 2nd D&DC fanvid - this one's shorter, but requires a hell of a lot of editing, so it might take a while. And I've had an idea for a third, but that'll need some new clips.
I watched March of the Penguins on Sunday - by gum, them penguins have it rough. I can see why the Christian Right like it so much (kind-of) - not that they're monogamous - their partnership is only until the chick's old enough to survive on its own, but because these little fellas don't really make much sense, from a Darwinian perspective. They do everything the hard way - it takes up 9 months of battling starvation and the elements a year to bring one chick into the world, and often that results in the parents, chick, or all three dying. How the holy heck are they not extinct yet?
Anyhoo, this has given me a new motto in life: It could be worse. You could be an Emperor Penguin.
