So it's come to this...
Jul. 16th, 2006 04:12 pmMy trousers are getting tight, so... *deep breath* I bought my first maternity clothes yesterday. I had wanted to go into Dotty Ps, but that burnt down on Friday evening (as you do... it's only round the corner from the flat so we could smell the smoke. I had hoped it would be one of the Chavvy shops but no, twas my precious Dotty Ps. Boo.) so I went to H&M instead. What is with H&M sizes? I'm usually an 18 UK size, but I couldn't even begin to fit into them - they were like 14s! Doesn't help that because most of their trousers/jeans are normal material up to below the bump, then jersey material, so they have no flies - you just have to wriggle into them.
So I got a pair of jeans, some smart black trousers and a long lilac smock thing. I'm still OK to fit into my tops at the moment, but the jeans especially need a long top to cover the jersey bit, and the smock was only £5.
Mummy, her BF & (surprisingly) Little Sister were down at the w/end, went out to the glorious Cafe Des Amis where Mummy spent far too much buying us all Fahitas and a picture (by Emily Postgate of 'He was a saggy old cloth cat, but Emily loved him' fame!) of a policeman for my uncle.
Have spent this afternoon doing the worst cleaning jobs that must be done before we move - ie the windows and the oven. Must dust & hoover after we've sent everything to the house. Why do I get the feeling next weekend's going to be a long one?
Still - have a few hours set aside for scribbling now.
Scribble, Scribble...
