The shit hits the parent
Jan. 26th, 2007 06:23 pmConsidering Vi doesn't like having her nappy changed (seriously - she screams the house down the second she goes on the mat... anyone would think we were torturing her!) she doesn't half poop a lot. We just now gave her her bath (which she hates even more than being changed), fresh nappy and all, gave her a little bit of milk and there was *that* tell-tale noise again. *Sigh*
Luckily, Hubs feels sorry for how much time I'm having to spend with her at nights at the moment (a very phleggmy chest has meant she's refused to sleep in her basket for two nights running now... cue me getting cold/dead arms cuddling her over the duvet in bed all night) and is volunteering to take most of the Clean-Up Operations - Woo! Not looking forward to him going back to work next week though - I could really do with having around for another couple of weeks and I'm sure he'd like to have a longer Paternity Leave too... Fathers' rights are still pretty pathetic these days. Still, Mum's coming back next week so I'll have another pair of hands to help for a few more days.
Due to the fact that at present I still have somebody who has slept reasonably well during the night (Hubs at present, then Mum) to take over in the morning and let me have a few hours solid kip then I don't need to spend Froggie's nap time catching up on sleep and have been able to get some writing done and get out to the shops - And get me, I'm already back to my pre-pregnancy size! Bought a new pair of jeans from Dotty Ps the other day and some pretty T Shirts from New Look today - all size 16/18! (That's UK size 16/18 BTW, which is big - top end of normal high street shop sizes big - but a few sizes down from an American 18, before any of you non-UK F-Listers start thinking I belong in a circus or summat) Next stop is to shrink down some more. Since I'm breastfeeding (after a fashion) and having to have Froggie in bed with me I'm still not drinking, which should help, however loads of my friends have sent me chocolates as prezzies, including a huge box of Thorntons from Swoo and a tray of Hotel Chocolat Rose & Violet Cremes (stop dribbling, Miss C!) from Hubs, which definately do not help.
Today's random fanfic quote: 'You'd have hated it. You're allergic to Nutella for starters.'
