A very good day was had yesterday with Russ & Anna mooching aroung Canters. The quote above is from when we were being followed by that old Tory Iti-killer himself, Julian Brazier (our MP, one of the Tories' "Family Values" men (eurgh) and has actually managed to kill a young man through dangerous driving in Italy and get away scot free. Classy. Anyway, we reckoned his Tory-Sense was tingling with our Liberal Vibes and had come to suck our blood. Hiding behind a bookshelf in Waterstones from your local Right-Winger is great fun!)

Who Spoilers for that one with her off Eastenders in it )

1. My username is Random Scribbles because it's how I've always referred to my writing, so that's what I called my website. When I went on Helix while setting up the site I decided 'Random Scribbles' also made a good gnome du plume/ater ego. My username here is r_scribbles because scribbles was taken and randomscribbles was too long.
2. My journal is titled Nobody Likes A Dirty Fandango because that's what Hubs reckons I should call my Autobiography. And yes, it's a reference to Ladybits rather than the dance.
3. My subtitle is Scribbles Is As Scribbles does, because this journal is indeed a series of random scribbles. I do what I say on the tin.
4. My friends page is called A Collection of Ceramic Ducklings On Doilies because... I thought it sounded fun. it's actually two references spliced together - the ducklings part to some horrible 70s recipe cards [livejournal.com profile] violetcreme posted once which included a photo of a jelly or something with all these scary ceramic animals looking at it, the doilies part to a random phone call Bill once got from his BF as he was giving me a lift - "I'm just shopping for your Christmas present at the moment and I thought I'd better check - you still like porcelain Wizards on doilies, right?"
5. My default userpic is a still from GBoEF of La Reynolds getting on his "cowboy outfit" - union jack boxers, cowboy boots, hat and holster belt... grr. I like it because that scene was choc full of pleasant surprises, because the image is colourful and unusual, because I like the juxtaposition of the union jack and the cowboy belt but mainly because it's Paul Reynolds in pants.

Another Lost dream this morning, BTW...

There is a certain spot on the island - on the shore, a foot or so under sea water, physically marked with an X. Somebody treads on it deliberately and the spot opens up into a yawning chasm. Everybody either falls or jumps into it, they fall about the height of two storeys and have a soft landing... on the island again. They can still see 'the island' in the sky above the hole as well, but this island beneath it is exactly the same as the other island, only those who have died so far are alive again. One of the previously dead Losties (confusingly being played by Stephen Mangan) turns up apologising for coming back, but he just had to take the opportunity...

I also had a dream about Dad, and about my Niany. It was Uncle J who had died instead of Dad, and Dad was worried that he was going to be next. It was somebody's birthday. The old house I grew up in was back (it often is in my dreams about Dad) but had been completely changed - extended to beyond recognition. There was travel in the dream, but not the usual train, bus or aeroplane journey. There was a car, and a dark road. I was lost on the road, and out of control. Hmm.
