Aaaargh! Go away, you plot bunnies! Leave me in peace!

Ever since last night they've been plaguing me with a story that may or may not be called 'Cinder Burns' - it's a little bit Pratchett, a little bit Shrek, terribly Feminist take on The Dirty Dozen with fairytale Princesses.

A very Human army overtakes Queen Cinders' Kingdom, building an Empire Of Order. They ban magic. Cinders is told by the spirit of her mother to find the 'others like her' and stop it. The others are Thumbelina (need to re-read her story to work out what she's been up to since), Snow White (who has turned against humans completely, and lives as a Dwarf with her seven friends underground), either The Little Mermaid or The Swan Princess (both mute, both transmographiers... probably the swan) and Rapunzel (living with her blind lover in the badlands, along with... Duh Duh DUUUHHH... Cinders' blind, lame sisters, who she cares for). Cinders has to overcome her shame at both her low birth and the fact that she's a witch (oh yeah... her birth mother was a White Witch, as is she), Snow has to learn to trust humans again, Rapunzel & co need serious persuading that witches, Cinders in particular, aren't better off being eliminated. They march to take back the Kingdom. Thumbelina has a straight razor!
