The lonely grave of Charles Montgomery
Jan. 18th, 2008 09:14 pmThank you for my Family Reunion reviews, Rhi & Realmlife!
Funny how you both touched on the same thing... that, in spite of years and years writing Charles Montgomery as a cold, mean off-stage wanker, now that I've actually given him a presence I can't help but make the guy likeable. Yeah, he's an emotional midget with the same mood swings, snooty attitude and cruel sense of humour as his son, not the kind of guy you'd want as a father, but he's... he's very genial, isn't he? And once I'd found his voice he just wouldn't stop talking.
And once I'd realised the happy coincidence of his initials (I'd named him Charles long, long ago, as a Royal Family namecheck as well as a Simpsons ref) I very nearly made him CEO of his very own CM Enterprises! Nearly.
