r_scribbles: (headache)
Today has been the opposite of yesterday.

Yesterday I was gloomy for little reason, easily stressed and crotchety, not helped by Violet being in a bad way with reactions to her latest jabs and teething (poor little thing's come out in a rash and went right off food)

Madam is now much cheerier, the rash is clearing and, while her appetite still isn't back to normal she is at least eating a reasonable amount. We went for a lovely walk in the Cathedral grounds in the sunshine (Madam has new pink shoes - very swish - and was obsessed with the traffic cones in the Cathedral's car park), we've had a bit of a mini-sort-out and hoover, I've raided milady's Cast-Offs drawers for TShirts in case of a warm snap in March (found four that will fit her, as well as two pairs of trousers she can wear now) and feel very chilled. Plus a lingering headache that had been pestering me for a couple of days has finally gone and I'm doing tasty chorizo-tomato-jalepino-olive sauce and spaghetti tonight, and awarding m'self a nice cold tinny (alcohol is so much more enjoyable when it's a treat, not a necessity). All good. And hopefully since Vi's in a better state of health today we won't have a repeat of last night's bedtime stress (went on for two hours and was just horrible, plus she was very whimpery in her sleep up until about 1am, luvver).

Re-dubbing TNG is fun though, especially when you're exhausted to the point of extreme silliness (examples: 'We're still on for tonight though, aren't we? - Yes, Geordi, but tell me, what is this thing called "Sodomy"?', 'Commander, why am I not in this episode?' and the highly acclaimed 'Captain, he's gone all old and gross. What do I do? I don't want to, like, pick him up or nothing, he's freaking me out.')

I have used a ridiculous amount of brackets in this post, haven't I? (yes I have)

In other news, I hope Tucker Jenkins is OK after collapsing in a fit of Barf onstage, and I saw There Will Be Blood on Friday and thought it was boring. The young lad off Little Miss Sunshine was really good and it was very nicely shot but by gumbo you could tell it was adapted from a novel. Very, very meandering and episodic. No momentum. Blah.
