I had a feeling Mark Speight had probably topped himself when he went missing. The end of a very sad, weird story. Not that I'm shocked that pretty much everybody in the entertainments and media industry have half of Kensington up their nose - I'm sure that the ITN reporters on the short bit of news I caught, summing up the story with a smug moral about the dangers of drink and drug abuse themselves have enjoyed the odd snifter or two. Still not sure why people like kids TV presenter whose lives and careers could be so destroyed by revelations about - or consequences of - druggy misadventures don't spend the money on something a little less destructive, mind.
Still. Sad and weird, as I say. This guy was doing CBBC stuff when I was watching it in my early teens. Not exactly akin to Edd the Duck being found face down in a pool of vomit, but getting there.
