Gratuitous Socks
Jan. 30th, 2009 12:53 pmI have a tragic tendency to get overexcited about socks.
Yeah, that's right. Just pop the rotting remains of what was left of my Cool in a shoebox and let me bury it out in the garden, would you? Seriously, when I got a rather trendy pair of socks like what an Emokid might wear if Emokids shopped at Dorothy Perkins, I literally loved them to death, wearing them pretty much as soon as they were clean and dry so that they sprang massive holes after a few months. Anyway, yesterday I decided that Vi needed new socks since her favourite pair have sprung a big toe hole so that she looks like a comedy tramp, and many of her other ones are now much too small. Despite her telling me that she wanted 'purple socks' (it's very difficult to get her to wear any other colour of sock), she also had her eye on these:

Which I ended up getting because I thought they were bloody cool. She loves them - she has decided that 'black socks' is just as fun to say as 'purple socks' and likes telling me about all the shapes and pictures on them. But now I want some. Look at them - they're so 1989!
I have sock envy over my toddler.
Tragic.
