New icon from Missy C! *points* Thanks, chick! He puts his own gel on, dontchaknow.

So... the Specials first draft is nearly done... another 1000 words or so should do it. That'll make it around 12K words in total, which isn't Scriptfrenzy's goal, but it is mine! Then I can start editing it... some scenes need complete rewrites so that'll take a while. I want to get it at around 50 mins long, then I'll send it off to the BBC's Writersroom once I'm as happy with it as possible.

Miss C's news of a possible PG reunion/revival and resulting conversations about how that would work for a middle aged cast in 2007 have spurred me to finally write a fic which outlines my Ethnic Trousers Theory - behold the first two chapters... http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3595052/1/ - This is completely seperate from RtS, by the bye, going down a very different path after TAC. This fic will also (at a later point) outline my 'Kenny is secretly an animal in the sack' theory. Ye have been warned.

I put my pants on inside-out my mistake this morning. Duuuh!

1 - Violet has discovered blowing raspberries. Unfortunately she uses far to much spit and enjoys doing it while she's eating, so mummy tends to get a wet face.

2 - She also thinks the Wombling Song is Hi-larious. As do I. We like to dance to it.

3 - On 'Chain Reaction' on R7 is a lovely half hour of Bill Bailey interviewing Simon Pegg. It'll be up til midday Sunday on the 'Listen Again' service here - http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbc7/listenagain/sunday/

Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha! Thanks, Cathy!

Thankyou to those of you who offered Get Well Soon thoughts, spells, Powerplays and virtual Chicken Soup - i am now feeling much better - only mildly phlegmmy.

La Reynolds is all over the radio this week! I am spoiled. Not only was Trevor's World Of Sport really heavy on Sammy this week, but also he was doing some very silly voices and sound acting 'chasing a lady's errant hat across a railway platform' in Jerome K Jerome Biog 'One Man On The Stage' on R4 and surprised me when I was just listening to R7 as Background Noise and I heard him trying to cadge a Sunday Roast off a posh old lady. He's a really minor character in a rather lame radio soap called 'Westway'. (scroll down on the 'who's who' here http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/arts/features/westway/w_cast.shtml - character sound familiar at all? :)) The main plot seemed to revolve around a minor altercation over church flower arrangements.

I have discovered Tesco's Walnut bread. Yum!

And Vi has started grabbing her feet and trying to roll over when I'm changing her nappy. Sunrise, sunset...

...or words to that effect.
I have been abandonned this evening, Hubs has gone up to Smokey to watch a BAFTA preview screening of a fillum about Football Hooligans with his buddy, leaving me literally Holding The Baby.

Except that I'm not.

She nodded off properly at about half past the ten with me cuddling her as usual, and since there is no early-night-needing Hubby already in bed at this time I am introducing myself to a very odd new concept: Putting the baby down to sleep in her cot in the bedroom, unattended. Can't say I'm entirely comfortable with it, but she'll have to start going to bed alone before us at some point. All the doors are open and the house silent so I can hear if she cries, but still it feels rather odd.

Did my usual 'Husband away' thang - ie re-watching stuff that he's sick of - usually involving The Depp. Watched Sleepy Sleepy Hollow tonight... I do love Ichabod Crane. Another black of hair, brown of eye redeemed coward and social pariah. *Dreamy sigh*. Then decided to watch the glorious 'making of' footage on the Press gang DVD, which I haven't seen in ages. Cue lots of a very young La Reynolds grinning at the camera, improvising nonsense and generally seeking attention instead of saying anything sensible about the show whatsoever. *Another dreamy sigh*.

Also discovered how difficult it is to give a squiggly baby a bath when you don't have a second pair of hands to call upon and made Vi chuckle by singing 'For she's a silly old Mummy' to the tune of 'For he's a jolly good fellow' while changing her. Oh, and bought some classic mid 90s choons off Do You Like My Tight Sweater? by Moloko... yet another of my many teenaged posessions which went missing when my parents split. 'I dreamt that the Bogeyman went down on Mr Spock' and so on.

Ooooh, GBoEF LOVE! Just watched the last eppie, thanks to Miss C. In which Paul Reynolds seizes his only screen kiss thus far (I think) and goes for broke with it. There's twirling and face eating. There's also a lot of emotional moments, a portable telly hurled at Anthony Stewart Head and a Captain Birdseye ref. And matching balaclavas. Whee!

And from last week...

Oh, and I just spotted...

He's a sly fucker, isn't he? :D

Tis done! [livejournal.com profile] wily_eyebrows - Fans of The Actor Paul Reynolds. Woo hoo!
r_scribbles: (Sincere Col)
Episode 4 may have pushed me over the edge into utter Reynolds adoration. I think I might set up a Paul Reynolds community here...
a, for generic Press Gang/GBoEF/Let Him Have It/Trevor's World of Sport/anything else he might have a bit part in these days waffling, fawning, etc etc
b, to see if I can attract the attention of any other fans of His Eyebrowness
c, because it'll be incredibly obscure and probably only ever have about 5 members, the concept of which amuses me no end.

Oh, and a very Happy St Taffy's Day to all of you - may the inner Welshman inside of you shine through that drab English/Scottish/American/Canadian/Australian exterior on this sunny March the 1st.

Made a few more GBoEF icons...

I have done a few icons of Ghostbusters of East Finchley. The adorkability of Kev & Jackie is just too much not to. You'll have seen the union jack boxers icons from the start of eppie 1 around, since they are too sexy for words.

Onwards with the generic Reynolds Love:
abs and anoraks and mopeds )

...you can never have too many, can you?' - thankyou Ricky Gervais for making me cry at that one!

Well, I'm glad we went to the Baftas last year instead of this - firstly because I'd much rather watch Stephen Fry than Wossy and secondly - did you see that venue??? We'd have been stuck up in the Gods if we'd been there. Well, I thought Naomi Harris, Volver and yer fella who played Bonio Blair wuz robbed but I was pleased to see Helen Mirren get the Best Actress gong (isn't she beautiful!) and although I thought Little Miss Sunshine was a superior film I was still glad to see The Queen get the Best Film award anyway. Stephen Frears is a genuinely good egg, very generous to new film makers and helped Hubs make his film when other directors less than his calibre wouldn't even view Hubs' showreel.

Just watched eppie 2 of Ghostbusters of East Finchley. Wheeee! Moped Love! Sweaty Reynolds! Ray Winstone dressed as a cockroach!

Time for bed, though.

I really must go to bed, but...

I was rather impressed when the opening sequence of Ghostbusters of East Finchley revealed these little dimly lit treats: flesh! )
r_scribbles: (Default)
Still pregnant. Still 26 (just). Still permanently hungry & sleepy (except at bedtime when I get all irritable).

Rarrrr! This is getting mighty annoying now! I was getting some interesting aches in the small of my back last night/this morning but it appears that these have done nothing, nor has my trip to the hospital today. A tale of gynecological woe - ye be warned! ) So anyway the long and the short of it is that labour doesn't appear in any way imminent, and it's looking more and more likely that I'll go over my due date.

I wouldn't feel so useless if I could actually *do* stuff. Took the tree down and got some groceries today, and that's been about it. Don't have the mental capacity to write whatsoever. Meh!

EDIT: Having listened to the latest installment of Trevor's World Of Sport on R4 I'm utterly falling for Sammy Dobbs. A self-obsessed, sociopathic, possibly Autistic character created by the men who brought me Damien Day and Colin Mathews - I never stood a chance. This week he ran the London Marathon on a day's notice and absolutely no training dressed as a Gnu in order to impress a humourless German Lesbian. Feel The Love!

Eurgh... I don't like this new update page. What'll they do next - Bring back Hitler?

Anyway, didn't sleep well last night but had to get up early for a Midwife appointment. 'That's OK though,' I told myself, 'I can have a quick nap when I get in.' Meant to 'nap' until about half 11. Ended up fast asleep until gone 1. Gah! Feeling much better now - the PregnaRage over the Right Wing Tossers has finally subsided, but I can't remember a time when I've been quite so consumed with fury in a long time. Damn hormones!

Have nicked a 12 Days of Christmas meme off The Katie
And a Surrealism in Stephen Fry! )
Thanks to this, Katie's spares should she agree to donate them and one left in my stocking, I now have so many Reynoldses I don't know what to do with them. What name would give to a group of Reynoldses, I wonder? A Quirk, perhaps... I'm the proud owner of a Quirk of Reynoldses. Thanks also to Lucy's 'heads up' re Trevor's World of Sport on R4 - It's like the Neil Pearson 7 Paul Reynolds Show! The similarilites between Sammy & Colin are ridiculous, though. Shameless, greedy little Hustler? Check. Little to no Empathy for his fellow man? Check. Possibly a bit 'Special' in the upstairs department? Yeppers, although with Sammy it's possible Autism rather than probable Manic Depression. He's either a cross between Damien Day (*lustful sigh*) and Col or simply how Col would have turned out had Andy Hamilton written Press Gang instead of just nicking the end credits!

Jen - got your piccie! For some reason, I always pictured you as Blonde - maybe it's a Canadian thing.

Still feeling very tired and groggy. A cup of tea, I think, and then some scribbling.

Ah, have finally watched the Paul Reynolds Holby Eppie (thanks, Oh Violet One!) Ah, he really is good - I really liked all his nervous stuff at the beginning, and his delivery of 'but she *was* engaged. She was engaged to me', considering the truth that came out in the end. Hubs reckons he's 'looking old' and has 'let himself go', but I'm still positive he's some sort of vampire - he seems to be aging at 1/2 the normal speed and could probably still pass for late 20s in that eppie.

However - unless all of the other male actors in that were 6 footers, there is no way on God's holy earth that man is 5'6". He looked about my height, which is nowt to be ashamed of. It's practically perfect in every way.

But how comes rubbish old Michael French is still getting lots of work when Paul's stuck doing cameos and my gorgeous, talented Uni chum Ben is spending his youth acting in the doldrums of Crimewatch reconstructions? Hmm? It's a sick, sad world out there in British Showbiz, I tells ya.

Still no Broadband. It's BT's fault again, and they're being slow about it too, so it's back to crappity old Dial Up for a while.

However... *looks around new dining room/study* it's starting to feel like we actually live here now. We finally have bed, sofa, parking permit so we don't have to keep changing the daily vouchers and the ground floor is now reasonably clear of crap. Next stop: the bedrooms!

On a much needed hollibobs now, have been since Fri. Have been away for a long weekend in Weymouth with Dan & Reb and the delicious Demi (now 5 months old and ridiculously cute). We discovered she enjoys dancing to Disco songs (we tried other music, but she cried) on my knee. Favourites appear to be D-I-S-C-O and The Hustle. Bought her a hat hat that makes her look like a flower fairy. Too cute. I now miss having a baby to tickle. I loved that grippy thing they do with their feet!

Oh, but I think I've started feeling McFly. Feels like a moment of pressure inside my uterus - may sound a bit gross, but like the feeling I get when I have a smear. Mainly when sitting still when there's music on. Got one to 'Jungle Boogie' in the car and another to 'Starman' on the final TOTP.

Oh, and look at my new Colin Icon what the Violet One made me! (BTW, I now have Holby on DVD, shall watch tomorrow!)
