r_scribblesLadies & gentlemen - This: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeAd8MJYtpg is Dr Greame Garden at his best. This man is honestly, in my belief, the most underrated physical comedian about. He really should be up there with Eric Morcambe and Tommy Cooper in my opinion - Maybe even above them. I reckon Garden and Cleese are the best of that era - they wrote their own material, they were verbally funny, very clever and off-the-wall as well as amazingly good at throwing themselves all over the place. Furthermore, 30 years on, Greame Garden still has me crying with laughter on ISIHAC. The man is a genius and I love him.
We need to lobby the Beeb to get The Goodies a decent re-run - as fun as stuff like Open All Hours and Dad's Army are, they do tend to re-run them a lot - The Goodies is still really innovative today - I never watched The Goodies as a kid, they were before my time, I got into it when I was about 20 - I think they'd get a good audience if only they were given another airing.
