Poor Hubs had to get up at 5 this morning to catch a 6am train into Smokey. He's on a mightily prestigous film course all week. He's commuting every day so we at least get a few hours together (although most of those will be spent asleep I'll wager). Still I'll miss him, and worry about him (I always worry about him when he's off in London without his hard-ass pregnant wife to protect him).
This is the price one has to pay when one is married to a Terribly Clever Man, I suppose.
Finally got to see an NHS Dentist today, despite not having been since I got Gingivitis a few years back (and got stug for hundreds of quids to fix it) my gnashers all seem to be fine. And I found out about an Aquanatal class when I went swimming yesterday, so I'll give that a shot tomorrow night.
Oh, BTW if you're thinking of watching The Departed, I'd recommend you just rent out the Hong Kong original, Infernal Affairs, instead - it's much better. Considering the pedigree of The Departed it was just bloody daft - some interesting editing but a silly script, some shocking performances from usually fine actors (Nicholson, Winstone, I'm talking mainly to you guys here) and all the good bits were just taken wholesale from the original. It depresses me how many pale modern Hollywood remakes there are at the moment - why bother? Why bother making or watching a poor quality re-make, what's the point when you can watch the same film, made much, much better? There is occasionally a point to re-making, I'll warrant - something like King Kong where the spectacle is heightened for a modern audience by improved technology, or when a completely new twist is put on the original's concept, ie 12;01 and Groundhog Day, but the remakes of the likes of The Ring and Infernal Affairs just make me cross - mainly because when I try to get people to watch the originals because they're much better they refuse because they 'don't do subtitles'. Gah!
