r_scribbles: (childhood)
Got let off at just after 4 today, then bumped into old work mates and had a sly half in Caseys. Result! They did my play today - 'Trouble at t'Woods: Hansel & Gretel Vs Little Red Riding Hood'. Hee hee!

So I'm on my hollibobs now... 10 days! Woo!

Will probably do a little post tomorrow, but here is the Christmas Poem as promised -

The X-Mas Factor

It's drinking too much and feeling too full
At the Zillionth party where you fail to pull.
It's sacharine movies from the US of A
And humming 'Last Christmas' the whole Goddamed day.

It's being a parent, it's being a kid,
It's feeding your family, it's feeding your Id.
It's running around as if you were seven,
It's sliding yourself into Baileys soaked Heaven.

It's people who moan 'bout Consumerism,
And the crap on TV and their rheumatism
And the terrible cold and the slippery frost
And how the true meaning of Christmas' been lost.

But the meaning of Christmas is switching on lights,
Forgetting the dark and forgetting old fights
And remembering loved ones the way you feel's best.
You don't need Religion to feel that you're Blessed.
