Stupid cold. I'm really miserable - I'm sick of it! I'm sick of having a bunged up, itchy nose and itchy eyes and the smell of Cold in the back of my nose all the frigging time. Caning loads of OJ and sulking.

Hubs has abandoned me to watch some Sinatra musical with a mate (what are they, 60? Personally I'd rather eat hair) so I'm pootling around. Wasted some more time on CivII. It may be time to attempt to conquer somebody.

Now I must do a little bit of housework, but have promised myself some scribbling since I have the day/evening to myself. Want to do some more of the challenge and get the next chappy of Remain The Same done, although both are proving really difficult at the moment.

American LJ friends - is this story true? http://lifeandhealth.guardian.co.uk/health/story/0,,1864318,00.html

I am aware that my newspaper of choice is terribly left-wing and may well be whipping up a bit of a Feminist Scare Story, so I'm inclined to take it wit a pinch of salt, but if this sort of thing is really going on... Jesus! I'm conjuring up mental images of women's lifestyle being scruitinised after every miscarriage or stillbirth for reasons why she must be held accountable for murder. Or the banning anything that can lead to fertility problems (ie anything fun) for females from 15 to 50.

Over the top? Maybe. But the concept that if anything were to go wrong with McFly (*touches wood*) the rozzers might start investigating whether I'd ever eaten soft boiled eggs or drank more than the suggested limit of 2 units a week of alcohol or not left a smokey atmosphere while pregnant (all things I have done, while not being ideal) and then used that to pin the tragedy on me without conclusive evidence that that wasn't the reason why it happened - it's a pretty horrifying thought.

So I've got an NHS exemption so I thought I'd get a dental check-up, since it's so expensive otherwise.

Only in Canterbury there aren't any NHS Dentists taking on new NHS patients and all of the ones in the area that would take forever to drive to only take NHS until about 4.30 so if you work full time and actually *pay* the taxes that fund the NHS you might as well go and fucking whistle.

Bah!

Tonight's Lost actually made me shout at the telly a couple of times. There was a 'What?!?' in the middle and a 'No!!!' at the end, followed by a further, louder 'NO!!!' My tiny heart! Must all my Lost Ships be doomed?

There seems to be a worrying getting-jiggy-to-getting-deaded ratio amongst the Ladies of Lost Island, innit? No wonder Kate's stringing her boys out.

In other news, Challenge remained untouched tonight but the next chapter of Remain The Same is finally done - http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2845855/8/
