His quack has no echo.
Sep. 1st, 2006 01:14 pmWe got the first series of Duckula through from Screen Select last night, and Hubs wondered aloud whether Igor and Nanny are also Undead. We decided that they must be, if they've been serving the Duckula dynasty for generations. And that made me quite sad. Also, how comes Duckula suffers all of the side-effects of Vampirism (no reflection, can be killed by a stake through the heart) but can walk around in broad sunlight without any difficulty? He could at least have needed a sun umbrella or something. Brilliant toon, though. The credit sequences kick all kinds of arse.
EDIT: If you're on the other side of the pond and like your cartoons Dark, (EDITedit: Oh, all right then, Mr/Ms Anonymous cleverclogs, Dark*ish*!) or if you're in Blighty and feeling nostalgic for some of the best title sequences of the 80s, here's the exposition-tastic opening sequence of Duckula: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGDExhgIVuc and here's the brilliant photocopy animation end credits: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y40rDgZbdHw - So 80s! If your heart goes 'Oompa, Oompa'...
I think I'm getting hubby's cold. Rrrr.
