Blah blah blah

Bored.
Well, the student house next door to us finally has students in it again. I thought before last night that we must have really thick walls, since we've never heard a peep from any neighbours before (when we moved in there were still students from the year before living there for a couple of weeks) but I think what we actually had was Quiet Neighbours. This lot - not so much.
I shouldn't really complain because (so far) they haven't played loud music or anything, but they did all convene in the front bedroom (ie right next to our bedroom) and talk. Noisily. And late. With annoying voices. Luckily, our electric fan, which I occasionally put on overnight anyway because the white noise it makes always sends me to sleep, completely drowns them out.
And we'll get our own back come January - if I can be kept awake by three or four people chatting through the bedroom wall, they are *definately* going to be able to hear McFly when she cries in the night.
But it's all a bit mad - as far as student houses go, I've known much, much noisier because it was my friends making the noise. I lived on campus for a year, and just got used to people chatting or playing music in the rooms next door or below. When I was in my student house it was me who got told off most for sitting up and nattering and keeping my housemates awake. We used to have post-show parties that started at midnight after break-down and went on til four or five, and occasionally pulled all-nighters at peoples' houses, watching videos and talking. We'd always try to keep the noise down, but when it's half past 2 in the morning, there's a good 30 people in a small terraced house and the party's spilling out into the garden, I'm sure we were more than audable.
But that was then, and this is now, and I'm too old and pregnant to have parties, so I don't see why anyone else should have any fun!
Aaah, but we got the first disk of Quantum Leap S4 through yesterday, and watched The Leap Back. So good! One of my favourite ever QL bits is the first scene where a swiss-cheesed and terminally bemused Al is struggling to be even vauguely coherent with the one-legged milkman while Sam is absolutely *loving* being able to prance around undetected as an hologram.
