Oooh, the Odeon's Mother & Baby screening is such a good idea! Not for them of course, there were only about ten people in there not including the babbas, but it made a really nice lunchtime out for a bunch of us fom the 1st Time Mums group. Violet was as good as gold - slept a lot and spent the rest of the time either quietly feeding or sitting on my knee watching the fillum. And I finally got to watch Spiderman 3.

Was the film too long? Undoubtedly. Too many villains? Fer Sher. Jolly good fun? Yeppety yep. I did miss Alfred Molina, and Spidey 2 is still my fave, and it went a bit Batman Forever when the baddies teamed up at the end, plus the following questions came to mind...

1 - Who does Particle Physics experiments in the middle of the night?
2 - Does the New York underground system really resemble the cart chase from Temple of Doom?
3 - Was there anybody in this damn film who wasn't consumed by wrath and the need for vengeance?
4 - Why wasn't Peter upset about exploding Harry's face? Even after he loses Venom/the floppy Emo Fringe of Terror he doesn't seem too fussed that he'd horribly maimed his bestest friend.
5 - Humiliating MJ through the medium of dance? What the fucketty?
6 - Does Peter ever go to his classes? That kid's attendance is rubbish.
7 - The butler knew all about the Green Goblin and hos death...? Why the Hell didn't he say something earlier?

So, yes. I thought the inclusion of Sandman was needless (even though the actor wot played him did have shades of The Dex about the fizzog, I thought). The film should have stripped one villain, and I think he was the one who should have gone. Especially since his story really fizzled out towards the end. Venom was cool, and I really liked Harry, despite his 'I'm evil... no, I'm good - see? I'm painting a vase and some apples... no, actually, I'm pretty sure I'm actually evil... no, I'm definately good this time... aaaand - Dead' act. I'd have rather liked to have seen Spidey & The New Goblin become longer term partners in crimefighting, but no. I should have guessed from Harry's 'I'd die for my friends' line at the beginning that he was going to cop it. I truly thought it was going to be MJ who died. Ho well. Kirsten Dunst is one of my favourite young actresses in Hollywoodland at present, she's utterly charming and one of the best things in the Spidey Franchise in my opinion, so I'd have been sorry to see her go.

How funny did I find Peter expressing his Evilness by going all Emo, BTW? And that shot where Spidey lands in front of an American flag? Gay!
