1. Do you read or write fanfiction?
Mainly write. I'm rather selfish that way. I'd just rather write than read in general. I do enjoy reading stuff from time to time.
2. When did you first start reading/writing fanfiction?
Summer 2004, when I got in to D&DC. I read about half of Darkhaven.
3. What was your first fandom?
D&DC. But if I knew abut this fanfic malarkey 10 years ago I'd have written stuff for Red Dwarf, ST:TNG and Quantum Leap ages ago.
4. First ship?
Eric/Diana. *ducks to avoid hurled rotten veg*
5. What website to you use most?
FF.net
6. What do you think of Fanfiction.net?
I'm happy with it. My fandoms are so niche that I don't get many twats.
7. What fandoms have you written in?
D&DC, Press Gang, to a lesser extent GBoEF, Tomb Raider, PoP, H2G2, Red Dwarf, and I have just popped my Firefly cherry.
8. Pairings?
Eric/Diana, Hank/Sheila (*grumble*), Lara Croft/Prince of Persia, Spike/Lynda, Col/Fish, Sex-free Colynda, the occasional bout of silly Veric or Peric slash.
9. Any fandoms would you like to write in?
I'm still too scared to do any proper Firefly. The language is so idiosyncratic, and I always insist on getting the dialogue right... I'm not sure I can with that. Plus there's all the cussing in Chinese.
10. Do reviews affect how you write in any way?
If it's a good point, well made, in a WIP, maybe.
11. Do you use a beta?
No.
12. What ratings do you read/write?
Anything. I enjoy the odd spot of filth.
13. What warnings have you used on your fiction/read?
Mainly for bad language, because I like to make my protagonists swear. Occasionally for violence and sexual refs. Some of my AFF fics have had to contain warnings for all sorts, though... bondage, fingers, anal, oral, N/C, snuff, titwanking!
14. Do you have any squicks?
No kiddies, no animals. End of story.
15. Do you role-play online? If so, what?
No.
16. Have you ever stolen something from another person's work?
No way. What's the point of that? (Even though me and
bethamphetam1ne share a fic-brain!)
17. Favorite fandom to write/read?
At the moment, D&DC to read, PG to write.
18. Favorite pairing?
Oh God. E/D still give me the flutters, you know. Although S/L are a joy to write, as are ColFish. Well written, Zoe/Wash make me go all misty eyed. (And I live in hope that I will find a Baltar/Gaeta fic that I actually like, because they're both pretty and they get all stabbymurdery when they're together, which I like)
19. Favorite writer/writers?
They know who they are :)
20. How long should a chapter be?
It should be as long as it takes to get from the beginning to a natural break, peferably with a good cliffie.
21. Do you write/read drabbles?
Now... are those the 100 word thingies? Haven't written one yet, I have to say. And I tend to like my Shorts a little longer than 100 words... long enough for a bit of plot and a twist.
22. Any fandoms you avoid?
Ones that I don't Get. And the huge ones. Don't think I'll ever dip my toe into Who or BtVS.
23. Pairings you avoid?
I do not get Venger/Sheila. It makes no sense to me. No sense at all.
24. Warnings you avoid?
Going to agree with Lady B with the MPreg. IT MAKES NO COCKING SENSE! Oh, and anything with underage participants, obviously. Plus incest = not sexy.
25. Do the number of reviews tell how good a story is?
No. It tells how popular the Fandom is.
26. What do you think of Mary Sues?
I refuse to read any story with a summary along the lines of 'Katya - a teenage girl from modern day New York - wakes up suddenly in blah blah blah a world in blah blah blah an Orlando Bloom Character's bed'. In fact, I tend to skip anything with an OFC. And yet one of my favourite Adult Fics include an OFC (The Lovely Gail) and I have a Sue of my very own in Lizzie Fish. What's a girl to do, eh?
27. Have you ever flamed someone?
No. Again, what's the point?
28. Have you ever been flamed?
Not as such. i've had a couple of stupid reviews from people who blatantly haven't understood the basic premise of my fairly simple stories, but, y'know, they're idiots.
