You know, even when watching later series TNG you've got a touch of televisual Russian Roulette going on. Many episodes are fabbo. Many are not so fabbo. But sometimes you get one that's so bad it's actually brilliant, and when TNG tries to do Hammer Horror it becomes so silly that I can't just explain it to you, I have to spend a good long time collecting screencaps to show you all what I mean.
Girls and boys, I present
First of all, we must set the scene... everybody goes out of their way to say how much the terraformed planet that Crusher's Nana lived, died and was buried on is 'Just Like Scotland'... what do you think?

Picard even uses the term 'Scotch' instead of 'Scottish', which is terrible, because whenever anybody does that I automatically want to punch their lights out.
Anywise, on with the yarn...

I need to explain this next cap, because it was actually possibly the funniest moment in the whole episode, and one of the greatest entrances to a scene I've ever seen. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a cap with the actual moment, but during this scene in which Data and the weird bloke here talk about the weather, Geordi enters the scene by sliding into the background here

On a wheely office chair, like an extra in The Office. It was glorious. Up there with Data's 'walk past in background, double-take, stop, lean sideways to peer back in at what's going on in the foreground and decide to amble over to the camera' from an earlier episode.
I digress... back to the Hammer Horror.

...and that took up way too much of my time. Ho well!
