Bloody Hell.
I just watched all of Dead Set in one go.
What a brilliant series. Borrowed heavily from 28 Days Later, but then, what low budget Zombocalype drama doesn't these days? I really liked the way that the Big Brother contestants (barring a few obvious exceptions) went from being useless, squalking, obnoxious cartoon stereotypes to compassionate, capable, useful human beings once the cameras were off and the pressure was on, without becoming out-and-out Heroes. I liked that the female characters were (again, apart from the odd exception) shown to be as courageous, active and tough as the male characters without being made masculine. I liked the way that complicated, shades-of-grey relationships were portrayed subtley, without ramming unrealistic explanatory dialogue down our ears. I loved the nightmare-like quality of it all. And it had The Actor Kevin Eldon, being awesome as usual.
ATTENTION, WRITERS OF "SURVIVORS" - This is how you write the Apocalypse, you pricks!
Right. Bed. Despite a nap this avo I'm still bloody knackered.
